Privacy Policy

Quran TV (القرآن الكريم) for TV and phone, by IT4DS. Last updated: 3 October 2026.

The app needs no account. It does not collect your name, email, phone number or anything else that identifies you, shows no ads, and uses no third-party tracking or analytics.

What the app sends

• Anonymous usage statistics: a random id made on your device, the device type, app language and version, the country (worked out from the network address, which is not stored), time in use, and the most used surahs, reciters, tafsir, riwayat and adhan voices. They are used only to improve the app, and you can turn them off in Settings → About.
• Connecting a phone to a TV: a random id for the TV, the name you give it, and a temporary pairing code that is deleted after 10 minutes. Commands sent from the phone to the TV are deleted after 2 minutes at most, and a picture you send as the TV background is deleted from the server after one hour. The network address is used only to show nearby screens on the same network.
• Prayer times: your city is estimated from the network address to calculate prayer times, or you pick it yourself. The app never asks for your precise location (GPS).

This data is stored on a server in Germany (European Union).

What the app loads from other sources

Recitations, tafsir and reciter photos are loaded from their sources (such as Quran.com, QuranicAudio, mp3quran and EveryAyah). These requests carry nothing about you beyond what any internet connection needs.

Phone permissions

• Camera: only to scan the code shown on the TV; the image is neither stored nor sent.
• Photos: only when you pick a picture as the TV background.
• Notifications: for prayer time alerts.
• Compass: for the qibla direction, used on the device only.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

Deleting data

Everything the app keeps (settings, bookmarks, saved recitations) is on your device and is removed when you delete the app. To delete the anonymous statistics linked to your device, write to admin@it4ds.com.
